About.

Dwell Residential is redefining what 'Architecturally designed' means in Christchurch. As a new generation of developers, we collaborate with leading architects to design townhouses that are bespoke, contemporary, and crafted for modern living. We prioritise select locations and refined detail over mass production—fewer developments, distinctive design, uncompromising quality. The result is architecture-led homes that balance sophistication with liveability, delivering a standard that speaks for itself.

Who is Dwell Residential.

Behind Dwell Residential is Marcus Stott, a Christchurch-based developer with 17 years of experience in the construction industry. My career began in building relocation and repairing as-is-where-is property, which gave me early exposure to the realities of the development world. That foundation expanded into broader experience across the construction sector, where I refined both technical expertise and a strong eye for quality and detail. This background has shaped a hands-on approach to every project—I’m involved from site selection right through to delivery—ensuring every development delivers architectural distinction while meeting the practical standards of modern living.

Why I build.

I was born and raised in Christchurch, and I’ve watched the city change dramatically, especially after the earthquakes. Those experiences gave me a new perspective on the kind of city we are shaping for the future and a determination to play a part in its rebuild and growth. My goal is simple: in 30 years’ time, I want to be able to walk through Christchurch and see the positive changes I’ve contributed to—tangible, lasting improvements that add value to the city and to the lives of the people who live here. For me, it’s also about directly challenging the rise of mass-produced, short-lived housing in this development industry by creating fewer, better developments that stand the test of time—architecturally, practically, and environmentally—in an era dominated by fast fads and profit margins.
